Introducing Western Gourmet Toastmasters Club


Western Gourmet is a Toastmasters Club that

  • Holds monthly themed meetings on the 2nd Friday of each month at different restaurants in Western Sydney, centered on Parramatta.
  • Caters for people with Toastmasters experience
    • Who enjoy a monthly social dinner with friends at a wide variety of restaurants
    • Who enjoy the fellowship and learning experience of a well organised Toastmasters Club
    • Who are prepared to face the challenges involved in speaking at a variety of venues, sometimes in a less than ideal environment.

 September Meeting will be on Zoom

Western Gourmet celebrated its 20th anniversary on Friday 14th June, 2019 at Muirfield Golf Club.

We had 80 members, past members and visitors there in a special theme meeting "Bridging the Gap", honouring the past to plan the future. It was a very successful night with over 100 photos for viewing on our Facebook page.

20th Anniversary


Our club Evaluation and International Speech Contests were held at our meeting on 12th February. The winners were;

Evaluation, 1st Juliana Jamal, 2nd Allie Marriott, 3rd Brian Jones
International, 1st Juliana Jamal, 2nd Ron Marriott, 3rd Brian Jones.

Our club Topics and Humorous Speech Contests were held at our meeting on 9th October. The winners were;

Humorous, 1st Allie Marriott, 2nd Juliana Jamal, 3rd Susan Newton
Topics, 1st Michael Said, 2nd Juliana Jamal, 3rd Allie Marriott.

Michael Said then won the Area 13 Topics Contest.
Julian Jamal then won the Area 13 Evaluation Contest.

Our member Ron Marriott, representing another club, won the inaugural District 90 Table Topics Contest in 2015. In doing so he became the first winner of the Western Gourmet trophy for this contest, a trophy donated by our club.
